Build Details
The build number for the Android version number for Android 15 Developer Preview 2 is AP3.230.022.A3. Note that there are no OTA update images uploaded – when you need to unlock this preview, you should erase your handset and flash the full factory image because of a technical issue Google is working on.

- Security settings, for one, now have a WEP option which a user can simply toggle to enable or disable connecting to an older, not-so-secure WEP wireless network.
- This Bluetooth setting has a new audio-sharing feature to enable you to share the same audio stream with numerous wireless headphones/speakers. On the other hand, nothing works for now in the initial videos.
- The new icons in the scheduling menus for Do Not Disturb rules present options for breaking.
- Every camera app can suggest barcodes and accept scanning sizes that are larger to make them easier to tap.
- App setting now provides an option to “Archive the apps” which means after deleting the app, all data will be accessible to save space.
- The Android platform presents a USB webcam feature which is now highly improved so it can be turned on to sample the “HD” view for you.
- Available are the developer settings which provide the option to cap the frame rates to 60fps for games.

- Crystallized app size breakups.
- Frontstage operations for executing media processing activities.
- Support for loudness normalization standards should be among the priorities in order to maintain the quality and consistency of the audiovisual output.

- Improvements to PDF rendering via built-in events.
- HDR/SDR brightness level controls in the control system.
Android 15 Developer Preview 2 Experience
Installing the Android 15 Developer Preview on a Pixel 8 Pro as a daily driver is not recommended due to bugginess and performance issues.
Frequent app crashes, sluggish behavior, and long app load times plagued my experience. Battery life seemed acceptable, but overall stability was lacking in this early build. Â
Those are the key details on what’s new in Android 15 Developer Preview 2! As with any early preview, many of these features are still rough around the edges. But it provides an exciting glimpse at what’s coming in the next major Android update later this year. Let me know in the comments if you have any other questions!
