Finally, Google listened to their user voices and announced Google Gemini Nano for Pixel 8 and more Pixel devices.
Those of us who are eager to give our Pixels a facelift are cheerful to hear that Google has revealed two major software updates that will extend the life of some innovative functions to a variety of devices in its lineup.
Gemini Nano for Pixel 8
Gemini Nano for Pixel 8, a microscopic robot is capable of accurate and fast image processing within the human body.
In the beginning, low-level info that the potent Gemini Nano language model would be just exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro was only due to task limitations and not a hardware-related issue, Google has now confirmed that Gemini Nano would also be coming to the ordinary Pixel 8.
With the arrival of this new feature as a developer preview in the next Pixel Feature Drop, you can respond to queries, transcribe speech, and automatically respond to messages alongside Google Summarizer, Recorder transcription, and Smart Reply in Gboard.
Moreover, the case regarding the base Pixel 8 Gemini Nano was put into consideration by Google as most of the users and developers from their side were heavily opting for the base model Pixel 8.
Google thus conducted thorough research across different memory standards to ensure a similar user experience.
Google assures that there is more to come for those who are enthusiastic about and experienced in using NES-specific gadgets. Google hopes to collect a lot of useful feedback that can be used to improve the revolutionary Gemini Nano and to create more innovations in the field.
Circles to Inspect for Tensor-Infused Pixel.
Lastly, Google says that they will also associate the Circle to Search feature to all Tensor-powered Pixel devices, except the Pixel 7A, Pixel 6A, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel 7 before the end of the year.
Circle to Search is a feature that just got added to the Pixels 7 lineup, through which one can perform a search by a Google image on any screen instance by a mere tap and hold on the navigation bar to draw a circle around the on-screen image of choice.
Circle to Search is the recent feature on the home screen of the Pixel 7 series which enables users to select the desired image by tapping on the edit bar and dragging a circle around the blown-up images.
However, it is also worth noting that the feature is not a monopoly of Google Pixel cameras – and it will be available on the Galaxy S24 series and soon on more Samsung devices like Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9. But for now, it looks like the feature works with devices that power Google’s Tensor chips.
Restoring Trust with Pixel Users
Thus, such software updates affirm how seriously Google integrates new features already in Pixel devices, which is a good move in restoring people’s faith in the experience of Pixel devices.
The disgrace of Gemini Nano from the Pixel 8 incurred much humiliation from fans because the components were very much alike just like what is between the Pro variant and the base model.
Google shows users that consider the increment of Gemini Nano and Circle Search on Pixel phones are important to the company, and the company tries to communicate the same concept to all devices, for the sake of consistency of software experience.
Though awaiting activation timeframes and plans being disclosed country-by-country, the Pixel users who are eager for these wonderful updates may start enjoying them in the next month or so.
