Leaked iPhone 16 Pro

Just six months away from its expected release, leaked performance benchmarks for a prototype iPhone 16 Pro have emerged, showing impressively high scores that surpass expectations.

Recently YouTube channel Max Tech published a video about iPhone 16 pro benchmark leaks and today we will shortly write about the video. so now let’s have a closer look and check all the details and specs we show in the video.

iPhone 16 Pro Performance improvements

According to screenshots shared (and subsequently deleted) by the Twitter account Tech Reef, the new A18 Pro chip powering the iPhone 16 Pro will deliver a huge 22.5% improvement in single-core performance over the A17 Pro, with a score of 3,570.

Even more staggering is the 29.3% multi-core performance gain, hitting 9,310 points. Graphics performance is also projected to see a 37% uplift compared to the previous generation.

CPU

So how is such a massive year-over-year performance leap possible? Reputable analyst reports suggest Apple will fully redesign the CPU architecture from the ground up to take full advantage of TSMC’s 3nm process for the first time.

The A17 Pro, while manufactured on 3nm, is believed to have simply been a ported version of the 5nm A16 design.

CPU Cores

The bigger performance uplift is also expected to be facilitated by an increase in CPU core counts.

Specifically, rumors point to the A18 Pro packing six efficiency cores instead of four, essentially adding 50% more for improved multi-threaded performance.

Cooling System

Another key factor enabling higher performance will be superior thermal management. Leaks indicate the iPhone 16 Pro will incorporate a new graphene heat sink to better control temperatures, allowing the SoC to run at higher clock speeds compared to previous models that were thermally constrained.

Perhaps most intriguingly, the regular iPhone 16 and 16 Pro models may end up using the same physical A18 chip.

The non-Pro variant is expected to be a slightly cut-down version, potentially disabling two efficiency cores and one GPU core from the full A18 Pro configuration.

With all signs pointing to a generational performance jump unlike any we’ve seen before on an iPhone SoC, the iPhone 16 Pro lineup is shaping up to be an absolute powerhouse, provided these leaked benchmarks prove accurate.

Apple’s silicon team continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible for mobile chips.
